AudioDope.com was started by Mike "AllNight" Long in 2008 as a way to promote underground DJs and their mixtapes in Iowa's burgeoning electronic music scene. Upon launch it was mostly studio mixes, but Mike soon realized the need to archive and document live mixes and showcase the amazing talent of Iowa's underground DJ scene.

With an M-Audio FastTrack II, AudioDope began cataloging any event that would allow access to the record out from the mixer. Primarily recording Digital Perceptions and Solar Cathedral events, AudioDope quickly became popular as the primary source for curated DJ mixes and live sets in the eastern Iowa underground scene.
